Our Story

Appalachian Integrative Bodywork and Massage started with the desire to bring therapeutic massage to the Jefferson City area. Bekah and Steph were both travelling to Knoxville, Newport, Sevierville, and the surrounding areas to work (they met working together at a spa in Sevierville!) and were frustrated with having to travel to work and with the lack of massage service options in our own town. In the fall of 2021, they decided to seek out a space in Jeff City and build a local business that offers therapeutic and integrative services.

They both believe that massage and bodywork is so much more than spa services (although relaxation is so necessary in these times!) and approach massage and bodywork as a therapeutic and complementary holistic approach to wellness and healthcare. They provide services that will help you feel and perform better - whether that's overcoming an injury or trauma, focusing on specific problem areas, increasing range of motion, dealing with a chronic disability, or helping to improve your overall well being - they can help you achieve those goals. Give them a call or shoot us an email if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment.

Meet Bekah and Steph

Bekah’s journey feels long and storied and in many ways, not typical of many therapists. She grew up in SC, joined the Army in 2004 and became one of the very few women to become an EOD technician, deployed to Afghanistan in 2006, moved on from the military and progressed into a career in the non-profit sector, holds a masters degree in international affairs, and has worked other odd jobs including bartending, whitewater rafting guide, and retail. Eventually she ended up at massage school with the desire to help others in ways that were less traditional than the standard allopathic, Western medicine approach. Her wellness interests include yoga, vibrational/energetic modalities including sound healing and reiki, and herbal medicine and plant remedies.
